The cut-off date for qualification and age is the scheduled date of interview for that group.

1. Selection is through a Walk-in Interview/Test — there is no separate written examination stage unless invoked below.
2. If the number of candidates turning up for a project is very high, a screening committee may shortlist candidates via a written test or other criteria, and only shortlisted candidates will then be interviewed.
3. Candidates must bring the filled application form, original certificates, and self-attested photocopies on the day of the walk-in itself — no other mode of application is accepted.
4. Final selection is at the discretion of the competent authority, CSIR-NML; the decision is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entertained.
5. Engagement is subject to availability of project funds and is not a regular CSIR appointment.
