Uttara Kannada District Court Vacancy 2026
  • A total of 78 positions are notified - 13 Process Server posts in addition to 65 Peon posts - distributed across reservation categories as shown below. Each category total additionally includes horizontal reservation for women, rural aspirants , persons with benchmark disabilities, ex-servicemen, Kannada-medium test-takers, project-displaced persons, in addition to transgender aspirants , as applicable; the notification specifies these sub-splits in more detail than can be reliably reproduced here.

  • Under SC (Category-C), preference is for the 59 identified Most Backward Castes; if suitable aspirants are not available, other castes under Category-C will be considered.

Uttara Kannada District Court Qualification
  • According to the latest notice, Process Server: Pass in SSLC examination or equivalent qualification. Preference will be given to applicants holding a Heavy/Light Motor Vehicle (HMV/LMV) driving licence.
  • Peon: Pass in SSLC examination or equivalent qualification. test-takers must be able to read in addition to write Kannada.
Uttara Kannada District Court Age Limit

  • As per Government Order No. ಸಿಆಸುಇ 262 ಸೇನೆನಿ 2025 dated 29 January 2026, an additional 5-year relaxation has been added to the maximum age limit above (this relaxation is limited to this one recruitment). Further age relaxation under Karnataka Civil Services (General Recruitment) Rules, 1977, Rule 6(2), applies as follows:
  • Government/quasi-government/local authority/corporation employees: relaxation equal to the period of service rendered, or 10 years, whichever is less.
  • According to the latest notice, Ex-servicemen: relaxation equal to the period of service in the armed forces, plus 3 years.
  • test-takers with physical disability: 10 years relaxation.
  • Widowed applicants : 10 years relaxation.

Uttara Kannada District Court Salary / Pay Scale
  • Picked aspirants will initially be on probation for a period of two years, extendable if required.
Uttara Kannada District Court Application Fee
  • Fee must be paid only online through the State Bank of India Collect page, using net banking, internet banking, debit card, or credit card.
  • Fee must be paid in the name of "Principal District & Sessions Judge, Uttara Kannada, Karwar" only; fees paid under any other name will not be considered, along with such applications will be rejected.
  • No mode other than online payment - such as demand draft, postal order, money order, cheque, or cash - will be accepted.
  • Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
  • Applications of test-takers who have not paid the prescribed fee will be rejected.
  • The department has confirmed that, aspirants should confirm fee payment status only with SBI; the office is not responsible for any technical failure during the payment process.
Uttara Kannada District Court Selection Process
  • Process Server: applicants are shortlisted for interview based on percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying educational examination, in a ratio of 1:25 per post (as per reservation for the notified posts). The interview carries a total of 10 marks.
  • Peon: aspirants are shortlisted for interview based on percentage of marks obtained in the SSLC examination, in a ratio of 1:10 per post. The interview carries a total of 10 marks.
  • Final selection for both posts is based on marks scored in the interview.
  • Aspirants are advised that, If two or more test-takers score equal marks, seniority in age is used to determine merit order, with the older candidate ranked higher.
How to Apply for Uttara Kannada District Court Recruitment 2026
  • Access the authorized site: uttarakannada.dcourts.gov.in/notice-category/recruitments/ or uttarakannada.dcourts.gov.in/online-recruitment/ .
  • Read all instructions given on the online portal carefully before starting the application.
  • It is informed that, Fill in the online online form with correct personal, educational, as well as category details, in addition to a valid email address as well as mobile number (these cannot be corrected once submitted).
  • The department has confirmed that, Upload all required documents in addition to certificates as specified on the portal.

  • Transgender certificate under Section 6 of the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019, for test-takers claiming transgender reservation
  • It is informed that, No Objection Certificate from the concerned department, for test-takers already employed in State/Central Government or public sector undertakings, if shortlisted
  • Project-displaced person certificate, in the prescribed format as per Government Order dated 23.11.2000, for aspirants claiming this reservation
  • Identity proof: original Aadhaar card, voter ID, or similar document
  • Character/conduct certificate: two certificates confirming good conduct from respectable persons (non-relatives) who know the candidate well, with signature along with seal, plus one certificate from the head/principal of the last institution attended, with educational details, signature in addition to seal - all obtained within the last six months
  • HMV/LMV driving licence, where applicable (Process Server post, for preferential consideration)
  • The official notification states that, Fee payment receipt (for applicants who paid the applicable fee)

  • Incomplete applications will be rejected without any further correspondence.
  • The official notification states that, All instructions/communication from the recruiting authority will be sent to the email address in addition to mobile number provided in the application; the office is not responsible if a candidate does not receive such communication.
  • Interested applicants should know that, aspirants must attend the interview/examination venue notified by the office at their own expense.
  • According to the latest notice, Any attempt by a candidate to seek external support (from staff or non-staff sources) during the selection procedure will result in disqualification.
  • If information provided in the application is found to be false at any stage - during scrutiny, after recruitment, or after appointment - the candidature or appointment will be cancelled/terminated, along with criminal proceedings will be initiated against the candidate for furnishing false information.
