Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the Recruitment 2026 notification for 212 openings , including Specialist, Assistant Professor, Assistant Editor as well as More posts. The online application process will be conducted from 12 September 2026 to 2 October 2026. Interested aspirants can register online through the authorized portal, upsc.gov.in.

UPSC Advt No. 11/2026 Post-wise Vacancy Details
- According to the latest notice, opening numbers, reservation positions, along with PwBD suitability/reservation are as notified against each post.
- Total openings across all seven posts: 212 . Several posts carry PwBD-reserved (backlog) posts in addition to the general reservation position; posts not reserved for PwBD although identified as "suitable" allow PwBD test-takers to send in as well as be considered on general merit.
1. Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor (Anatomy)
- Age: 40 years for UR/EWS; 45 years for SC.
- Qualification: Post-Graduate degree in Anatomy (e.g., MS/MD/DNB Anatomy, or MBBS with MSc Anatomy, or MSc Medical Anatomy with PhD/DSc) from a recognised teaching institute.
- Experience: At least 3 years' teaching experience as Senior Resident/Tutor/Demonstrator/Registrar/Assistant Professor/Lecturer in the specialty after the first PG degree.
- Pay Scale: Level-11 plus NPA (7th CPC).
- Headquarters: Delhi (liable to serve anywhere in India).
2. Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor (General Medicine)
- Age: 40 years for UR/EWS; 43 years for OBC; 45 years for SC/ST; further relaxable up to 10 years for PwBD.
- Qualification: Recognised MBBS degree plus Postgraduate degree in Medicine/General Medicine (MD/DNB) from a recognised teaching institute.
- Experience: At least 3 years' teaching experience as Senior Resident/Tutor/Demonstrator/Registrar/Assistant Professor/Lecturer in the specialty after the first PG degree. (Note: experience as General Duty Medical Officer/Medical Officer is not counted.)
- Pay Scale: Level-11 plus NPA (7th CPC).
- Interested applicants should know that, Headquarters: Delhi (liable to serve anywhere in India).
3. Assistant Editor (Indian Bureau of Mines)
- Age: 30 years for UR; 35 years for SC; further relaxable up to 10 years for PwBD.
- Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Journalism/Mass Communication, OR Bachelor's degree with Economics/Statistics/English plus a 1-year diploma in Journalism/Mass Communication.
- Experience: 3 years' experience editing as well as publishing in a publishing house, newspaper, news agency, publicity organisation, or government organisation.
- Desirable: Master's degree in Mass Communication/Journalism/Economics/Statistics/English; experience with publishing software (PageMaker, MS Office, CorelDraw, QuarkXPress, Photoshop).
- It is informed that, Pay Scale: Level-07 (7th CPC).
- Headquarters: Nagpur, Maharashtra (service liability anywhere in India).
4. Specialist Grade II (Junior Scale) – Anaesthesiology (NDMC)
- As per the official update, Age: 50 years for ST; further relaxable up to 10 years for PwBD.
- Interested applicants should know that, Qualification: Recognised medical qualification (MBBS-equivalent) plus PG degree/diploma in Anaesthesiology (MD/MS Anaesthesiology, DA, FFARCS, or equivalent).
- Experience: 3 years' experience after PG degree, or 5 years' after PG diploma.
- Pay Scale: Level-11 plus NPA (7th CPC).
- Headquarters: New Delhi Municipal Council.
5. Specialist Grade-II (Junior Scale) – Paediatrics (NDMC)
- Age: 45 years for EWS; further relaxable up to 10 years for PwBD.
- Qualification: Recognised medical qualification plus PG degree/diploma in Paediatrics (MD Paediatrics, or Diploma Paed./DCH).
- Experience: 3 years' experience after PG degree, or 5 years' after PG diploma.
- Pay Scale: Level-11 plus NPA (7th CPC).
- Headquarters: New Delhi Municipal Council.
6. Assistant Public Prosecutor (Govt. of NCT of Delhi)
- Age: 35 years for UR/EWS; 38 years for OBC; 40 years for SC/ST; further relaxable up to 10 years for PwBD. Contractual employees get a one-time relaxation up to 5 years (subject to conditions).
- According to the latest notice, Qualification: Degree in Law from a recognised University/Institute.
- Experience: 3 years' experience at the bar.
- Desirable: Experience as a government advocate.
- Pay Scale: Level-10 (7th CPC).
- Headquarters: National Capital Territory of Delhi.
- Mandatory induction training of at least 2 weeks for direct recruits.
7. Public Law Officer/District Litigation Officer/Law Officer (UT of Ladakh)
- Age: 40 years for ST; further relaxable up to 10 years for PwBD.
- Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Law (Professional or Integrated) from a university established by law in India, with 2 years' actual practice at the bar, certified by the Principal District & Sessions Judge or Registrar General of the concerned High Court/Supreme Court.
- The conducting body has announced that, Pay Scale: Level-8 (7th CPC).
- Headquarters: UT of Ladakh.
- Domicile requirement: Recruitment is exclusive to Domiciles of the UT of Ladakh under the Ladakh Civil Services Decentralization in addition to Recruitment – Grant of Domicile Certificate (Procedure) Rules, 2025. A valid Domicile Certificate issued by the Tehsildar is mandatory.
- The conducting body has announced that, Reservation governed by the Jammu & Kashmir Reservation Act, 2004 (as extended/amended for Ladakh), covering ST, SC, Residents of Areas Adjoining the Actual Line of Control (ALC), EWS, as well as PwBD.
- For all posts, the qualifications shown are relaxable at UPSC's discretion for otherwise well-shortlisted aspirants , in addition to experience requirements may be relaxed for SC/ST aspirants if sufficient shortlisted applicants from these communities are not available.
UPSC Advt No. 11/2026 Application Fee
- Fee payable: ₹25 (Rupees Twenty-Five only), via Visa/MasterCard/RuPay Credit/Debit Card/UPI or internet banking.
- Women aspirants , along with aspirants belonging to SC, ST or Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) of any community, are exempted from fee payment.
- No fee exemption is available to OBC/EWS/Unreserved male applicants - they must pay the full fee.
- Applications without the prescribed fee will be summarily rejected, with no representation entertained.
- The conducting body has announced that, Fee once paid is non-refundable along with cannot be adjusted against any other examination/selection.
UPSC Advt No. 11/2026 Age Relaxation & Concessions
- SC/ST applicants : 5 years' relaxation; OBC test-takers: 3 years' relaxation (for posts reserved for them).
- PwBD applicants : 10 years' relaxation (cumulative with SC/ST/OBC relaxation where applicable), subject to maximum age on closing date not exceeding 56 years.
- Ex-Servicemen along with Commissioned Officers (incl. ECOs/SSCOs): 5 years' relaxation, subject to minimum 6 months' continuous service after attestation as on closing date.
- Central/UT Government servants: up to 5 years' relaxation (10 years for SC/ST, 8 years for OBC in posts reserved for them), subject to 3 years' continuous service in an allied cadre.
- As per the official update, Scribe facility is available for specified categories of PwBD test-takers in Recruitment Tests, subject to conditions.

UPSC Advt No. 11/2026 Selection Process
- It is informed that, Recruitment is "by Selection" - primarily interview-based. Mere possession of the essential qualification does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview.
- Where the number of applications is large, UPSC may send in shortlisting criteria: Desirable Qualifications, higher educational qualification, higher/relevant experience, or by holding a Recruitment Test (RT).
- The official notification states that, Minimum level of suitability in interview (out of 100 marks): UR – 50 marks, OBC – 45 marks, SC/ST/PH – 40 marks.
- Where a Recruitment Test (RT) precedes the interview, applicants must clear the minimum suitability level at both the RT in addition to interview stages.
- Recruitment Test/Combined Recruitment Test (if held) will ordinarily be conducted at: Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Chennai, Delhi, Dispur (Guwahati), Jaipur, Jammu, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Port Blair, Ranchi, in addition to Visakhapatnam (for the Ladakh post: Leh, Kargil, Srinagar, in addition to Delhi).

- A candidate must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee (pre-1962), or a person of Indian origin migrated from specified countries with intent to permanently settle in India - subject to qualification certificate requirements for the latter categories.
- The department has confirmed that, The date for determining qualification in every respect is the closing date for submission of the online application.
- It is informed that, All correspondence from the Commission will be through the registered email ID only - applicants must furnish a correct, active email address.
- PwBD applicants may submit for posts identified as "suitable" even if not reserved for them, along with will be considered on general standard of merit; reservation/relaxation benefits register only where the disability is 40% or more.
- Aspirants are advised that, aspirants already in regular Central/State Government service must submit a declaration that they have informed their Head of Office/Department in writing about applying.
- Furnishing false particulars, suppressing material information, tampering with documents, impersonation, or using unfair means will lead to disqualification along with possible debarment from future UPSC examinations/selections along with Central Government employment.
