The Southern Railway Recruitment 2026 for posts of 17 Scouts along with Guides Quota. The candidate shall send in online through Southern Railway website, sr.indianrailways.gov.in. test-takers with ITI, 12TH, 10TH Can send in Online. The online application opens on 19-09-2026, along with closes on 18-10-2026.

Details

Southern Railway Scouts and Guides Vacancy 2026
  • Candidates should note that, The 12 Southern Railway Level 1 posts are distributed at two posts each among Chennai, Tiruchchirappalli, Madurai, Palakkad, Thiruvananthapuram along with Salem divisions.
  • The advertised posts are open to all shortlisted aspirants irrespective of community. There is no separate reservation for any community under the Scouts as well as Guides Quota.
Level 2 Posts
  • aspirants must possess any one of the following qualifications:
  • Passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination with at least 50% marks in aggregate; or
  • Passed Matriculation from a recognized board with a Course Completed Act Apprenticeship for technician categories; or
  • The conducting body has announced that, Passed Matriculation from a recognized board with an ITI qualification approved by NCVT for technician categories.
  • The official notification states that, The requirement of 50% marks in Class 12 is not applicable to SC, ST as well as ex-servicemen applicants or aspirants possessing qualifications higher than Class 12.
Level 1 Posts
  • The department has confirmed that, test-takers must possess one of the following qualifications:
  • Candidates should note that, Class 10 pass; or
  • It is informed that, ITI or an equivalent qualification; or
  • As per the official update, National Apprenticeship Certificate granted by NCVT; or
  • Candidates should note that, Class 10 with ITI; or
  • Class 10 with a National Apprenticeship Certificate granted by NCVT.
Scouts and Guides Qualification
  • applicants must satisfy all the following Scouts in addition to Guides requirements:
  • Candidates should note that, Must be a President’s Scout, Guide, Rover or Ranger, or a Himalayan Wood Badge holder in any section.
  • As per the official update, Must have been an active member of a Scouts organization for the last five years.
  • The official notification states that, Must possess a Certificate of Activeness in the prescribed format.
  • Must have attended two events at the National Level or All Indian Railway level.
  • Must have attended two events at the State Level.
Additional Age Relaxation
  • The conducting body has announced that, Serving Railway employees with the prescribed continuous or broken service may receive relaxation up to 40 years for UR, 43 years for OBC in addition to 45 years for SC/ST applicants .
  • Widows, divorced women along with women judicially separated yet not remarried may receive relaxation up to 35 years for UR, 38 years for OBC along with 40 years for SC/ST.
  • Candidates should note that, eligible Jammu in addition to Kashmir domiciled test-takers may receive five years of relaxation.
  • meeting criteria Casual Administrative Office staff may receive age relaxation according to the prescribed conditions.
  • Ex-servicemen will receive relaxation according to applicable service along with category rules.
Application Fee
  • The application fee must be paid online through the payment gateway. applicants who submit separately for both Level 1 in addition to Level 2 must pay the applicable fee separately for each application.

Medical Examination
