RRB Technician Vacancy 2026 – Post Details
  • The conducting body has announced that, In line with the approved intent, 6,565 Technician openings are proposed for the RRB Technician 2026-27 recruitment, distributed as follows across all RRBs.
  • Technician Grade I Signal – 323 Posts
  • Technician Grade III – 6,242 Posts
  • Total posts (All RRBs) – 6,565 Posts
Who Can Apply for RRB Technician 2026?
  • qualification criteria depend on the post along with level. aspirants must meet educational, technical, in addition to age requirements in line with the Centralised Employment Notification.
  • Candidates should note that, Technician Grade I Signal: B.Sc. (Physics / Electronics / Computer Science / IT / Instrumentation) or Degree/Diploma in Engineering in relevant discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Technician Grade III: 10th / Matriculation plus ITI from NCVT/SCVT in relevant trade or Act Apprenticeship in the concerned trade.
  • Other Conditions: applicants must satisfy prescribed medical standards along with citizenship norms along with should be within the specified age limit as on the date mentioned in CEN 02/2026.
Age Limit
  • Technician Grade I Signal: 18 to 36 Years
  • The official notification states that, Technician Grade III: 18 to 33 Years
  • Upper age relaxation for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/NCL/EWS/Ex-Servicemen/ PWBD) will be applicable as per Government of India rules as well as details will be given in the detailed CEN.
Selection Process
  • According to the latest notice, RRB Technician recruitment involves multiple stages including a Computer Based Test as well as subsequent document as well as medical verification. There is no Computer Based Aptitude Test for these Technician posts.
  • Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)
  • Stage 2: Document Verification
  • Stage 3: Medical Examination

  • Aspirants are advised that, Exam Duration: 90 Minutes
  • Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark will be deducted for each wrong answer; no negative marks for unattempted questions.
Salary Details
  • Technician Grade I Signal: Pay Level 5 (7th CPC) – Initial Pay Rs. 29,200/-
  • Technician Grade III: Pay Level 2 (7th CPC) – Initial Pay Rs. 19,900/-
  • Additional allowances such as DA, HRA, TA in addition to other benefits will be admissible as per Railway rules for the respective pay levels.

  • Access your regional RRB website (e.g., Ahmedabad, Ajmer, Bengaluru, Chennai, Secunderabad, etc.).
  • Open the link for Centralised Employment Notification CEN 02/2026 – Technician.
  • Read the detailed notification carefully including post-wise criteria , instructions as well as list of RRBs.
  • Register by providing basic details like name, mobile number in addition to email ID.
