OPTCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Overview
  • Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL), a state-owned power utility engaged in the transmission of electricity in Odisha, invites applications from young along with meritorious aspirants for engagement as Degree (Engineering as well as Non-Engineering), Diploma, along with Trade (ITI) Apprentices for a period of one year, under the Apprentices Act, 1961 (as amended in 1961, 1973, as well as 2014). OPTCL Apprentice Vacancy 2026
  • A total of 100 apprentice seats are on offer across four apprenticeship types in addition to eleven disciplines. As stated in the notification, the number of positions against each trade/discipline may change (increase or decrease) as stated in the requirement of the corporation, in addition to unfilled seats in a specific discipline may be filled from other disciplines within the same apprenticeship type (degree, diploma, or ITI).

OPTCL Apprentice Other Eligibility Conditions
  • Only Indian nationals belonging to the state of Odisha are meeting criteria to send in.
  • applicants must have the minimum physical standard prescribed in Clause 4 of the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, as well as amendments thereof.

OPTCL Apprentice Stipend
  • As stated in the notification, OPTCL will pay 50% of the stipend to Degree Engineering Apprentices, Diploma Technician Apprentices, in addition to Degree Non-Engineering Apprentices, with the remaining 50% paid by the Board of Apprenticeship Training (referred to as BOPT in the notification) through DBT. Apprentices are entitled to the stipend from the start of the online contract date, subject to satisfactory performance during the training period. OPTCL Apprentice Selection Process

Period of Apprenticeship Training
  • The period of apprenticeship training is one year (12 months).
  • The training period commences from the online contract date of the Apprenticeship Training along with continues for one year.
  • The department has confirmed that, It is not obligatory for OPTCL to offer employment to any apprentice who has completed their apprenticeship, nor can an apprentice claim a right to employment on the ground of having completed the Apprenticeship Training.
  • Training will be provided at different units in addition to offices of OPTCL across Odisha; no accommodation or allowance in lieu of accommodation will be provided at the training location, as well as apprentices must strictly follow safety rules at their place of engagement.

OPTCL Apprentice Important Instructions
  • According to the latest notice, Incomplete or erroneous applications will be rejected, as well as no further communication will be entertained in this regard.
