- An additional 5-year age relaxation applies to applicants serving in Government organizations in the same line or allied cadres, where their existing service is relevant to the advertised post. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC(NCL) aspirants applies only to posts reserved for them, whereas relaxation for PwBD aspirants applies irrespective of reservation status, provided the post is identified as suitable for them.

NIC Scientific/Technical Assistant-A Application Fee
- test-takers applying for more than one discipline must pay ₹800 separately for each discipline applied for. The fee can be paid only through online mode (Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking); Cash, Demand Draft, Pay Order, or Cheque will not be accepted. Bank charges towards remittance, if any, must be borne by the candidate. The application fee, once paid, is non-refundable.
NIC Scientific/Technical Assistant-A Selection Process
- Only aspirants fulfilling the requirements criteria along with who have completed registration on the NIC portal will be considered for further selection.
- The official notification states that, A category-wise merit list will be prepared for each discipline based on GATE Score, with equal weightage given to GATE 2024, GATE 2025, along with GATE 2026 scores.

- In case of a tie: (1) the older-year GATE score is ranked higher; (2) if the score in addition to year are the same, the older candidate is ranked higher; (3) if still tied, the candidate with a higher percentage in the essential qualification is ranked higher.
