ISTC Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria
- ISTC Recruitment 2026 requirements is defined separately for each post in terms of educational qualification in addition to managerial experience. The minimum qualification for all posts must be from an Institute/Examination Board recognised by AICTE/appropriate statutory authority/State/Central Government. test-takers with equivalent qualifications must submit an Equivalency Certificate issued by a competent authority.
ISTC Engineering Manager Eligibility
- Candidates should note that, Qualification: Degree in Naval Architecture Engineering/Marine Engineering/Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University.
- Experience: 15 years of managerial experience in Ship design/Shipyard/R&D organisation, of which 5 years shall be as in charge of the section or department, along with a proven track record of managing shipbuilding or maritime projects.
ISTC Lead Engineer (R&D) Eligibility
- According to the latest notice, Qualification: Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Naval Architecture Engineering/Marine Engineering from a recognized University.
- Experience: 12 years of managerial experience in Ship design/Shipyard/R&D organisations, including at least 4 years managing large projects or R&D in Commercial or Defence Shipbuilding/Maritime sectors.
ISTC Manager (Training & Skill Development) Eligibility
- It is informed that, Qualification: Degree in Naval Architecture Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Marine Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Industrial Engineering/Production Engineering from a recognized University (Master's Degree in Engineering or MBA desirable).
- Experience: Seven years of managerial experience in the maritime/shipbuilding sector; preference to aspirants with at least 2 years of experience in training, skilling or capacity building roles.
ISTC Assistant Manager (Technical) Eligibility
- As per the official update, Qualification: Degree in Naval Architecture Engineering/Marine Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical/Electronics Engineering from a recognised University.
- The department has confirmed that, Experience: Three years of managerial experience in a Ship Building Company, Ship Repair Company, Marine-related Company, Port, Engineering Company, Government/Semi-Government Company or Establishment, Ship Design firm, or R&D organisation.
ISTC Assistant Manager (Information Technology) Eligibility
- Candidates should note that, Qualification: Engineering Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or Master's Degree in Computer Science/Computer Application/Information Technology from a recognized University.
- Experience: Three years of managerial experience in installation in addition to maintenance of servers, storage devices along with networking equipment, as well as system installation, configuration, maintenance as well as troubleshooting in a Shipyard, Port, Engineering Company, Government Undertaking, PSU, Private Sector Company, Bank, or Autonomous Body.
ISTC Executive (Finance) Eligibility
- As per the official update, Qualification: Pass in the intermediate examination of ICAI/Institute of Cost Accountants of India/M.Com/MBA (Finance).
- Experience: One year of managerial experience in financial matters such as Budgeting, Costing, Banking, Taxation, Finalisation of Accounts, Audit-related matters, Financial Concurrence in procurements, or Compliance in a PSU, Commercial organisation, Engineering Company, or Government/Semi-Government Company/Establishment.
ISTC Executive (HR & Administration) Eligibility
- Qualification: Two-year Master's Degree/equivalent Degree/Diploma/Post Graduate Degree with specialization in HR (e.g., MBA-HR) or Post Graduate Degree in Personnel Management.
- Experience: Minimum one year of managerial experience in Human Resource/Administration in a PSU, Engineering Company, Government/Semi-Government Company/Establishment, or Private Sector organisation.
- Note: For aspirants working in PSUs/Government/Autonomous bodies in the regular cadre, one year of experience shall be in the immediate lower scale of pay or equivalent, as detailed in the authorized circular. Post-qualification experience is reckoned as on 18 September 2026.
ISTC Recruitment 2026 Age Limit

ISTC Recruitment 2026 Salary
- Shortlisted aspirants will receive a consolidated monthly pay according to the post, with an annual increase of 3% on the monthly pay.
- Candidates should note that, All posts are on contract basis for a tenure of five years, extendable for a further period subject to organisational requirements in addition to individual performance. The place of posting for all picked test-takers is ISTC, Kochi.
ISTC Recruitment 2026 Application Fee
- It is informed that, Application fee: ₹400/- (Non-refundable, plus bank charges extra)
- Interested applicants should know that, Payment mode: Online only (Debit card/Credit card/Internet Banking), from 01 September 2026 to 18 September 2026. No other mode of payment shall be accepted.
- Applicants belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST) are exempted from payment of application fee.
- All other applicants must pay the application fee; candidature is considered only on receipt of the fee.
ISTC Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
- For all posts, selection is through a Personal Interview.
- Candidates should note that, For posts at Sl. No. 4 to 7 (Assistant Manager Technical, Assistant Manager IT, Executive Finance, Executive HR & Administration), the recruitment process shall furthermore include a Pen- as well as -paper exam, depending on the number of applications, as decided by ISTC.
- ISTC may scrutinise applications as well as shortlist applicants based on criteria ascertained through uploaded certificates; only shortlisted applicants shall be permitted to attend the recruitment process.
- Only test-takers who successfully entire certificate verification shall be shortlisted for the Personal Interview.
- Rank lists shall be prepared based on aggregate marks in the Written examination (where applicable) along with Personal Interview. In case of a tie, relative merit shall be decided based on seniority in age.

- Full the One Time Registration on the SAP Online portal.
- Candidates should note that, Submit the application against the applicable post through https://istcindia.org between 01 September 2026 in addition to 18 September 2026. Applications submitted directly or through any other mode shall not be accepted.
- Upload all certificates towards proof of age, educational qualification, experience, caste, etc., along with a recent passport-size colour photograph.

ISTC Recruitment 2026 Important Instructions
- Incomplete applications, withdrawn applications, or applications in draft status shall not be considered.
- It is informed that, No TA/DA shall be paid to aspirants for attending the selection procedure.
- Call letters will not be sent by post; shortlisted applicants will be informed by e-mail/through the ISTC website.
- Candidates should note that, Original certificates of shortlisted test-takers shall be verified at the time of joining or at any other stage decided by ISTC; candidature is purely provisional until verification.
- According to the latest notice, Shortlisted applicants must undergo a medical examination as prescribed by ISTC, as well as appointment is subject to certification of medical fitness.
- The conducting body has announced that, The rank list validity is up to 18 months from the date of reporting of the last candidate, or until a fresh notification for the same post is issued.
