- Biosciences in addition to Bioengineering: Ph.D. plus a 4-year Bachelor's degree, or 5-year integrated Master's in Biotechnology/ Biochemical/ Chemical Engineering/ Bioinformatics/ Biosciences, or 4-year Bachelor's in Engineering/ Technology/ Agricultural/ Pharmaceutical Sciences, or MBBS/ BVSc, or equivalent integrated degrees in Biological, Physical, Chemical, along with Data Sciences, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- Chemical Engineering: Ph.D. plus Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.

- Aspirants are advised that, Test-takers should preferably be below 35 years of age as on the date of advertisement (31.07.2026). Age relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as per Government of India norms:
- SC/ ST aspirants : 5 years relaxation
- OBC-NCL test-takers: 3 years relaxation
- PwBD applicants : 5 years relaxation (10 years for SC/ ST-PwBD as well as 8 years for OBC-NCL-PwBD test-takers)
