It is informed that, Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) has declared the Recruitment 2026 notification for 45 Food Safety Officer posts. shortlisted applicants may submit through the department website, hpsc.gov.in. The online application process will be conducted from 19-09-2026 to 28-09-2026.

HPSC Food Safety Officer Vacancy 2026: Post-wise and Category-wise Details
  • HPSC has notified a total of 45 posts of Food Safety Officer (Group-B) under Advertisement No. 25/2026. The number of posts may increase or decrease as per Government requirements.
  • The department has confirmed that, Note: One post of SC is included in this requisition on account of a shortfall of the SC category. As per Government letter No. 14056-58 dated 17.07.2026, only low-vision aspirants are shortlisted for the one seat reserved horizontally for visually impaired aspirants .
HPSC Food Safety Officer Eligibility Criteria and Qualification
  • applicants applying for HPSC FSO Recruitment 2026 must meet the following essential qualifications as on the closing date, 19.10.2026:
  • A Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree from a recognized university or institution in one of the following groups of disciplines: Food Technology group: Food Engineering; Food Engineering along with Technology; Food Processing as well as Preservation; Food Processing Technology; Food Technology as well as Management; Food Biotechnology; Food Plant Operations Management; Food Process Engineering along with Management; Food Processing; Food Safety in addition to Quality Management; Process along with Food Engineering
  • Or Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, or Oil Technology
  • The department has confirmed that, Agricultural Science group: Agriculture; Agriculture Engineering; Biotechnology; Dairy Technology; Fisheries; Food Technology; Food Nutrition in addition to Dietetic; Horticulture
  • Aspirants are advised that, Or Veterinary Sciences, Bio-Chemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry, or Medicine from a recognized university
  • Or Bachelor of Medicine as well as Bachelor of Surgery, Bachelor of Dental Surgery, Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine in addition to Surgery, Bachelor of Unani Medicine as well as Surgery, Bachelor of Siddha Medicine as well as Surgery, Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine along with Surgery, or Bachelor of Sowa Rigpa Medicine as well as Surgery; or any other equivalent qualification notified by the Food Authority with the prior approval of the Central Government
  • Successful completion of training as specified by the Food Authority in a recognized institute or institution approved for the purpose. This training is given after appointment, along with applicants who detailed it successfully will be notified as Food Safety Officer.
  • Interested applicants should know that, Hindi or Sanskrit as one of the subjects in Matriculation, or Hindi as one of the subjects in Higher Education.
  • No person who has any financial interest in the manufacture, import, or sale of any article of food shall be appointed as Food Safety Officer under the Food Safety & Standard Rules, 2011, as amended from time to time. The qualifications for the post are according to the relevant Service Rules, along with no claim of equivalent qualification will be considered unless specified in those Service Rules.
HPSC Food Safety Officer Age Limit
  • applicants should not be less than 18 years as well as not more than 42 years of age on or before the closing date of the advertisement, i.e. 19.10.2026 .
  • Relaxation for DSC/OSC/BC-A (Non-Creamy Layer)/BC-B (Non-Creamy Layer)/ESM category test-takers of Haryana is admissible only where the posts are reserved for that category. The upper age limit for any category (except ex-servicemen) shall not exceed 52 years, even after availing one or more relaxations.

HPSC Food Safety Officer Application Fee

  • The fee, once paid, is non-refundable under any circumstances along with cannot be held in reserve for any other examination or selection. Applications submitted without the prescribed fee, unless fee remission is validly claimed, will be summarily rejected.
HPSC Food Safety Officer Selection Process
  • The official notification states that, Generally, the Commission follows a three-stage recruitment process: Screening Test, followed by a Subject Knowledge Test, along with Interview . However, the Commission may as well decide to hold the Subject Knowledge Test in addition to Interview directly, without a Screening Test.
  • It is informed that, If the number of applications is large, the Commission may adopt any one or more of the following methods for shortlisting aspirants for the next stage:

  • Percentage of marks in different educational qualifications, with weightage decided by the Commission
  • Desirable qualifications, where more than one is prescribed
  • Higher educational qualifications than the minimum/essential qualification prescribed
  • Higher experience in the relevant field than the minimum prescribed
  • Counting of experience before or after acquiring the minimum/essential qualification
  • A Screening Test in addition to/or Subject Knowledge Test
  • No claim for re-checking or manual checking of OMR sheets, or re-checking/re-evaluation of Subject Knowledge Test answer sheets, will be entertained. The decision of the Commission regarding the pattern of examination is final as well as binding on aspirants .

How to Apply for HPSC Food Safety Officer Recruitment 2026
  • According to the latest notice, Access the government HPSC website, hpsc.gov.in , as well as register online using a mobile number.
  • After successful registration, a URN (Unique Registration Number) will be created.
