CMWSSB Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply as well as Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) has issued a total of 108 openings for Graduate as well as Technician Diploma Apprentice posts. meeting criteria applicants may submit online till 17 October 2026.

Details

Graduate Apprentice

applicants must possess one of the following qualifications in the relevant engineering discipline:
A full-time Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by a statutory university.
A full-time Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by an institution empowered by an Act of Parliament to award such a degree.
It is informed that, A graduate examination conducted by a professional body in addition to recognized by the Central or State Government as equivalent to the prescribed qualification.

Technician Diploma Apprentice

The conducting body has announced that, aspirants must possess one of the following qualifications in the relevant engineering discipline:
A full-time Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education.
A full-time Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a university.
A Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by an institution recognized by the Central or State Government as equivalent to the prescribed qualification.

Who Can Apply?

The candidate must belong to Tamil Nadu.
According to the latest notice, The relevant Degree or Diploma must have been completed in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or May 2026.
The candidate must hold a full-time qualification in the relevant engineering discipline.
The candidate must be registered on the NATS portal.
The candidate must enter the qualification percentage correctly in the NATS profile.

Who Is Not Eligible?

As per the official update, The following aspirants are not meeting criteria to submit :
Candidates should note that, aspirants who have already completed NATS or NAPS apprenticeship training.
test-takers who are currently undergoing NATS or NAPS apprenticeship training.
As per the official update, aspirants possessing one year or more of work experience.
applicants who do not belong to Tamil Nadu.
test-takers who completed the qualification before 2022.

Age Limit

The age limit will be followed according to the applicable Apprenticeship Rules. The notification does not provide a separate minimum or maximum age.

Training Duration

The official notification states that, The apprenticeship training period will be one year under the Apprenticeship Amendment Act, 1973.
Completion of the apprenticeship does not create any right to regular employment in CMWSSB. The organization is not obligated to offer employment after the training period.

Application Fee

The authorized announcement does not mention an application fee.

Selection Process

The recruitment process consists of the following stages:
Shortlisting based on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed Degree or Diploma qualification.
Notification of shortlisted applicants through their registered email address.
Certificate verification at CMWSSB, Chennai.
No written examination or interview is mentioned in the notification.

Reservation

Reservation for SC, ST, OBC in addition to PwD test-takers will be followed according to the Apprentices Act in addition to applicable government rules.
