CERT-In Scientist-B Vacancy Details 2026
- A total of 133 posts have been notified across three disciplines. The number of advertised posts is tentative in addition to may increase or decrease at the sole discretion of CERT-In.

Nationality
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- As per the official update, A subject of Bhutan, or
- As per the official update, A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- A person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or specified East African countries with the intention of permanently settling in India (certificate of criteria required for categories other than Indian citizens)
GATE Score Requirement
- The conducting body has announced that, Test-takers must possess a valid GATE score from 2024, 2025, or 2026 in the paper code corresponding to their discipline. Equal weightage is given to GATE 2024, 2025, along with 2026 scores.
Computer Science and Information Technology (Paper Code: CS)
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology (minimum four-year course) in disciplines such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Software Systems, Cyber Security, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Security, Digital Forensics, IoT, Quantum Computing, Blockchain Technology, Machine Learning, Cloud Security, Cryptography, or any other relevant discipline where the qualifying degree names Computer Science/IT/Data Science/AI as the main discipline, OR
- Master's Degree in Science disciplines such as Computer Science, Computer Application, or Computer in addition to Network Security, OR
- Master's in Computer Application (MCA)
Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (Paper Code: DA)
- Master's Degree in Science disciplines including Software System, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Informatics, Information System, Information Security, Cyber Law, Computational Linguistics, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cyber Security, Advance Network, Cryptography, Machine Learning, Cloud Security, Digital Forensics, Big Data Analytics, IoT, Quantum Computing, or Blockchain Technology.
Electronics and Communication Engineering (Paper Code: EC)
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology (minimum four-year course) in Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Telecommunication, Electronics & Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Robotics in addition to Automation, Drone Technology, Autonomous Systems, or any relevant discipline where "Electronics" is the main discipline, OR
- Master's Degree in Science disciplines such as Electronics, Applied Electronics, VLSI Design, Digital Communication, Mechatronics, Robotics in addition to Automation, Drone Technology, or Autonomous Systems
- The essential qualification must be obtained on or before the cut-off date. No claim of an "equivalent" qualification will be entertained. No prior work experience is required for this post.

CERT-In Scientist-B Age Limit 2026
- Age is calculated as completed years on the cut-off date (17.08.2026). Age relaxation for PwBD aspirants applies irrespective of whether the post is reserved for them, provided the post is identified as suitable. Additional age relaxation of 5 years applies to aspirants serving in Government Organizations in the same or allied cadre where prior service would be useful for the advertised post.
CERT-In Scientist-B Salary 2026
- The post of Scientist-'B' carries Level 10 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (7th CPC) , with a pay scale of Rs. 1,77,500 . Details of allowances (DA, HRA, TA) are not specified in the notification. 56,100 to Rs.

CERT-In Scientist-B Selection Process 2026
- The conducting body has announced that, GATE Score Shortlisting: aspirants are shortlisted for interview in the ratio of 1:5 (discipline-wise along with category-wise), based on GATE score merit. All test-takers with a tied score at the cut-off rank are shortlisted.
- The department has confirmed that, Document Verification: Conducted before the interaction/interview. test-takers who fail to appear with original documents are not meeting criteria for further stages.
- As per the official update, Personal Interaction/Interview: Maximum 50 marks, assessed on Technical (Academic) knowledge, Presentation/Communication Skill/Comprehension, along with Academic performance (0.05 mark per percentage in the qualifying degree).
Minimum Qualifying Marks in Interview
- Aspirants are advised that, Unreserved (UR): 50%
- As per the official update, EWS/OBC/SC/ST/PwBD: 40%
- applicants who do not meet the minimum qualifying marks in the interview will not be considered for the final merit list, irrespective of GATE score.
Tie-Breaking Criteria
- Higher GATE paper score ranks higher
- The department has confirmed that, If GATE scores are equal, higher marks in the Technical (Academic) knowledge section of the interview ranks higher
- If still tied, the older candidate ranks higher
