The Bihar Vidyalaya Pariksha Samiti (BSEB) has published the notification for the Secondary Teacher requirements Test (STET), 2026, for Paper-I (Secondary level) in addition to Paper-II (Higher Secondary level). Online applications can be submitted at stetregistration.cbrt.co.in from 17 August 2026 (afternoon) to 31 August 2026.

Bihar STET 2026 Papers & Subjects
  • STET 2026 is held for two separate papers based on teaching level. test-takers may register for either paper or both, subject to criteria .
Citizenship
  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
Bihar STET 2026 Age Limit
  • Minimum age (all applicants ): 21 years as on 01.08.2026.
Examination Fee
  • Fee is payable online via Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI. No other mode of fee payment is accepted.
Bihar STET 2026 Exam Pattern
  • Exam duration: 2 hours 30 minutes per paper.
  • Question type: Objective/Multiple-choice, delivered via Computer Based Test (CBT).
  • No negative marking for wrong answers.
  • Since the exam is held across multiple shifts/sittings, a Normalization method is applied to the raw score to ensure aspirants are not disadvantaged or advantaged by shift-wise difficulty variation; the final result is based on the Normalized Score, not the Raw Score.
How to Apply for Bihar STET 2026
  • Access the government portal stetregistration.cbrt.co.in .
  • Entire first-time Registration to generate a User ID as well as Password (sent via SMS/e-mail).
  • Log in along with fill the online form, entering personal, educational, as well as category details accurately.
  • Upload a recent color photograph (20 KB–200 KB, size 3.5cm × 4.5cm) along with scanned signature (10 KB–50 KB).
  • Click "Preview" to verify all entered details before submission; use "Save" to correct any errors.
  • Pay the requisite examination fee online via Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking / UPI, using the Payment Gateway.
  • Click "Submit" to finalize the application. No changes are permitted after final submission.
  • get in addition to print a copy of the confirmed application for future reference.
Documents Required
  • Matric (10th) certificate in addition to marksheet (for date of birth)
  • The official notification states that, Intermediate (12th) certificate along with marksheet
  • Graduation certificate along with marksheet
  • Post-graduation certificate in addition to marksheet (for Paper-II)
  • B.Ed. certificate along with marksheet
  • Any other relevant educational qualification proof
  • Residence certificate issued by a competent authority
  • Caste certificate for SC/ST applicants , issued by a competent authority
  • Creamy-layer-free certificate for Backward Class/Extremely Backward Class test-takers, issued by a competent authority
  • Disability certificate, where applicable
  • Ex-servicemen discharge/service documents, where applicable
  • The department has confirmed that, Recent scanned photograph along with signature in prescribed format/size
Important Conditions
  • test-takers should get the application draft first, fill it carefully with a pen, then transcribe the details online, to avoid entry errors.
  • The entry pass will be generated strictly based on the details filled in the online application; no correction request will be entertained once the entry pass is issued.
  • aspirants must keep their User ID as well as Password confidential as well as not share them with anyone, including cyber café operators.
  • If the qualification/subject group mentioned in the application does not match the notified requirements , the candidature along with result may be cancelled at any stage.
  • As per the official update, test-takers applying for the EWS category for STET 2026 must correctly mark "General" as their category in the online application (a common error was noted where EBC aspirants mistakenly shortlisted EWS).
  • Aspirants are advised that, Result as well as entry pass will be prepared based on the reservation category marked by the candidate in the application; applicants should exercise care while marking the category.
  • The department has confirmed that, Applications with the prescribed fee received after the final date will not be accepted, along with such incomplete applications will be rejected.
  • Passing the STET examination does not itself confer any right to appointment.
  • The Samiti reserves the right to modify or cancel the recruitment/examination process at any stage.
