Animal Husbandry as well as Veterinary Department Assam (AHVD) has declared the Recruitment 2026 notification for Veterinary Field Assistant posts. A total of 200 posts have been declared under this recruitment drive. The online application process will be conducted from 3 September 2026, 10:00 hrs to 23 September 2026, 23:59 hrs. Details
Assam VFA Written Test Pattern
- The official notification states that, Selection for the entry-level cadre of Veterinary Field Assistant (or its equivalent post) is through an OMR-based descriptive test of 120 minutes duration, for 100 marks across 100 questions, set at Class 12 (HSSLC Science) standard.
Mandatory One-Year Training
- Picked test-takers must undergo a mandatory 1 (one) year Training in Elementary Knowledge of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science at the School of Veterinary Science as well as Animal Husbandry, Assam, Ghungoor, Silchar, in addition to its extended campuses under the Animal Husbandry as well as Veterinary Department. aspirants must pass this training before appointment.
How to Apply for Assam VFA Recruitment 2026
- Go to the authorized site: animalhusbandry.assam.gov.in .
- Register along with fill in the online online form with personal, educational, in addition to category details.
- Upload the required documents, including the Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC), educational certificates, as well as category/reservation certificates as applicable.

Documents Required
- Aspirants are advised that, HSSLC (Class 12) Science stream mark sheet/certificate, with Biology as a subject
- HSLC Pass Certificate/HSLC Entry pass, or equivalent certificate from a recognized Board/Council, for age proof
- Valid Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) issued in Assam, for proof of domicile
- It is informed that, Caste certificate for SC/ST/OBC/MOBC aspirants , issued by the competent authority in Assam
- PwBD certificate (Benchmark Disability 40% or more), issued by the competent authority, for aspirants applying under the PwBD category
- Ex-Servicemen Identity Card (issued by the Zila Sainik Welfare Office, Assam) along with Discharge Book, for Ex-Servicemen test-takers applying against the reserved post
