About AIIMS Nagpur
- AIIMS Nagpur was established under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) with the objective of improving regional imbalances in the availability of affordable as well as reliable tertiary healthcare services, as well as to augment facilities for quality medical education in the country. AIIMS Nagpur Senior Resident Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria & Qualification
- Interested applicants should know that, For general (non-super-speciality) departments, the essential qualification is a postgraduate Medical Degree (MD/MS) in the respective discipline from a recognised University/Institute. NMC/MCI/State Medical Council registration is mandatory before joining, if picked.

Qualification for Trauma & Emergency (marked #)

- Applicant must be an Indian National.
- Only test-takers who have already been declared successful in their qualifying degree exam, along with will detailed their tenure for the same on or before the closing date of application, are meeting criteria .

AIIMS Nagpur Senior Resident Recruitment 2026 Age Limit
- No age relaxation is available to SC/ST/OBC applicants applying against unreserved (UR) positions . Age is counted as completed years as on the closing date of the application. 4% of the total posts are horizontally reserved for Persons with Disability (PwD) with benchmark disability, as per Reservation Rules as well as RPWD Act/DoPT instructions.

- Chosen Senior Residents will be placed at Level 11, Cell No. 01, as stated in the 7th Central Pay Commission (7th CPC) , which corresponds to a pay of Rs. 67,700/- per month, plus usual allowances including Non-Practising Allowance (NPA), if applicable. - If a large number of applications are received, shortlisting for the interview will be done based on qualification, additional qualification, experience, etc., or through a written examination.

Tenure and Key Terms & Conditions
- The conducting body has announced that, The post of Senior Resident is a tenure post under the Government of India Residency Scheme, for a maximum duration of 3 years.
- According to the latest notice, The initial appointment is for a period of 1 year, extendable up to a maximum of 3 years, subject to approval of the Competent Authority in addition to satisfactory performance.
- If a candidate has already served as Senior Resident in any Government medical institution (regular, ad-hoc or contract basis), that duration will be reduced from the 3-year tenure offered.
- The appointment can be terminated at any time, on either side, by giving one month's notice or one month's salary in lieu, without assigning any reason, or on failure to full the first three months to the satisfaction of the competent authority.
- Appointees must be on whole-time appointment with AIIMS as well as cannot accept any other paid or unpaid assignment, or engage in private practice during the contract period.
- Aspirants are advised that, If an appointee resigns within the first 3 months of joining, no NOC, Relieving Letter, or Experience Certificate will be issued.
- Appointees are not entitled to Provident Fund, Pension, Gratuity, Medical Attendance Treatment, Seniority, Promotion, or other regular-employee benefits.
