AIIMS Gorakhpur Faculty Recruitment 2026-27 Vacancy Details
  • The department has confirmed that, 68 posts are distributed across 31 departments/specialties, in four Faculty grades. Category-wise reservation is indicated against each post in the departmental advertisement.
  • Grand Total: 68 posts. 4% of total seats (7 posts: 1 Professor, 1 Additional Professor, 2 Associate Professor, 3 Assistant Professor) are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), on a horizontal basis, identified by physical requirement categories S (Sitting), ST (Standing), W (Walking), MF (Manipulation by Fingers), as well as RW (Reading & Writing).
  • # Pulmonary Medicine: test-takers with D.M./M.D. (Anaesthesia) may send in. (Pulmonary Medicine), M.D. (Transfusion Medicine) or M.D. (TB & Chest Diseases) may register . $ Transfusion Medicine as well as Blood Bank: applicants with M.D. (Trauma Surgery), M.D. (Respiratory Medicine), or M.D. (Blood Bank) may send in. * Trauma as well as Emergency Medicine: applicants with M.Ch. (Emergency Medicine), or M.D.

As per Government of India rules, unfilled EWS posts will not be carried forward as backlog - other category aspirants may register provisionally, subject to being considered only if the EWS post remains otherwise unfilled. If a suitable candidate is not found for Additional Professor or Associate Professor posts, such posts will be downgraded to Assistant Professor level in the same category in addition to may be filled on a contractual basis pending a subsequent regular advertisement. Reservations do not send in to posts filled on deputation basis.
AIIMS Gorakhpur Faculty Recruitment 2026-27 Eligibility Criteria
  • Applications are invited from Indian Nationals or persons registered as Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) cardholders under Section 7A of the Citizenship Act, 1955.
Essential Qualification & Experience (Super-Specialty Disciplines)
  • The qualifying degree must be in the subject of the post applied for. Experience must be obtained in a department recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) for the award of the qualifying degree, or experience recognised by the NMC as equivalent. The period of experience, wherever prescribed, is counted only after obtaining the prescribed qualification. Relaxation of one year's Teaching/Research experience is available for applicants applying to posts reserved for SC/ST, as per DoPT Rules/Guidelines. For NMC criteria on equivalent qualification/experience, applicants should refer to Gazette Notification F. No. NMC/MCI-23(1)/2021-MED dated 14.02.2022 (Annexure-C to the advertisement).
AIIMS Gorakhpur Faculty Recruitment 2026-27 Age Limit
  • Candidates should note that, Age is reckoned as on the closing date of application, 13.10.2026.
  • No age relaxation is available to SC/ST/OBC applicants applying for unreserved openings . Maximum age limit for the post of Additional Professor on deputation basis is separately specified in the deputation-specific terms of Annexure-1.
Pay Scale - Direct Recruitment / Deputation Basis
  • Aspirants can register for Direct Recruitment, Deputation basis, or Contract basis (for retired faculty), depending on post availability; Associate Professor along with Assistant Professor posts can only be filled on Direct Recruitment basis.
AIIMS Gorakhpur Faculty Recruitment 2026-27 Application Fee
  • Fee must be remitted online to: State Bank of India, Giridharganj, Gorakhpur-273008 branch; Account Name: Recruitment Cell, AIIMS, Gorakhpur; Account No.: 42368584553; IFSC: SBIN0018457.
  • No other instrument of payment is acceptable. The application fee is non-refundable.
  • The official notification states that, applicants applying for more than one post (different designation or department) must send in separately for each post in addition to pay the fee for each post.
AIIMS Gorakhpur Faculty Recruitment 2026-27 Selection Process
  • Based on bio-data, the Search-cum-Selection Committee may shortlist test-takers for interview.
  • test-takers called for interview must produce all relevant original documents (self-attested photocopies of Degrees, Certificates, Mark sheets, Age proof, Caste certificates, etc.) along with the printed application for verification.
  • test-takers already working in Central/State Government/Semi-Government/Autonomous Institutions must submit a "No Objection Certificate" from their employer at the time of interview.
  • The offer of appointment, when made, will be provisional along with subject to verification of educational as well as personal credentials by the competent authority.
  • The decision of the Executive Director, AIIMS Gorakhpur, is final in addition to binding in all matters relating to this recruitment.
