1. A typing proficiency test is conducted – candidates type a 15-minute dictated passage in both Kannada and English on a typewriter/computer, as directed.
2. The proficiency test carries a maximum of 100 marks each in Kannada and English; a candidate must score at least 50 marks in each language to qualify.
3. An interview carrying 10 marks follows for qualified candidates; final selection is based on marks obtained in the interview.
4. Merit rank is based on the percentage of marks scored in the SSLC or equivalent qualifying examination.
5. Candidates are shortlisted for interview at a ratio of 1 post to 25 candidates (1:25), based on highest marks, for each category of vacancy notified.
6. The interview carries 10 marks; final selection is based on marks obtained at interview.
