Category Age Limit All Candidates (General) 18 to 40 years Age Reckoning Date 01 July of the calendar year in which vacancies are notified for direct recruitment Age Relaxation Higher maximum age applies to SC, ST, and Other Backward Class candidates of Uttar Pradesh, and other categories notified by the government from time to time, as specified in the relevant government orders. UP government service employees get a 5-year relaxation in maximum age limit, as per Personnel Department order dated 27.08.2013. Ex-servicemen (who have retired from service by 05.10.2026) get age relaxation as per the UP Public Service (Reservation for Physically Handicapped, Dependents of Freedom Fighters, and Ex-Servicemen) Act, 1993 (as amended). Important: Candidates who are not original/permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh are not eligible for any reservation benefit and will be treated as Unreserved category candidates.

1. Total 100 objective, multiple-choice questions, 100 marks, single question paper, duration 2 hours (120 minutes) .
2. Negative marking: ¼ (25%) of the marks for that question is deducted for each wrong answer.
3. If the exam is held across multiple shifts/days, scores will be normalized as per the procedure notified vide Essential Information No. 42/05/Vigyapan Anu.(Eleven)/2019 dated 22 May 2019.
