Obtained a degree in Engineering from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India, or another educational institution established by an Act of Parliament or deemed a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956; OR | Passed Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India); OR | Obtained a degree/diploma in Engineering from a recognised foreign University/College/Institution; OR | Passed the Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India); OR | Passed the Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India; OR | Passed the Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London (held after November 1959).

A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 01.01.2027 - i.e., born not earlier than 02.01.1997 and not later than 01.01.2006. Leprosy Cured/Dwarfism/Acid Attack Victims/Muscular Dystrophy, Specific Learning Disability, Mental Illness) Up to 10 years Eligible Government servants in specified departments (holding permanent posts, or ≥3 years' continuous temporary service) Up to 35 years (i.e., up to 5 years' relaxation) Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC who also fall under Ex-Servicemen or PwBD categories are eligible for cumulative relaxation under both categories. Once a candidate selects General/Reserved category at the time of application, subsequent requests to change category will not be entertained by the Commission.
