UPESSC Pravakta (PGT) Recruitment 2026 Notification Out - Apply Online for 2,607 Posts

The Uttar Pradesh Shiksha Seva Chayan Ayog (UP Education Service Selection Commission, UPESSC), Prayagraj, has released Advertisement No. 06/2026 for direct recruitment of 2,607 Pravakta (PGT/Lecturer) posts in government-aided (ashaskiya sahayata prapt) secondary schools under the Secondary Education Directorate, Uttar Pradesh. Eligible candidates can apply online at upessc.up.gov.in from 18 September 2026, with the fee payment window closing 17 October 2026.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); UPESSC Pravakta Qualification For most of the 26 subjects, the essential qualification is a postgraduate degree in the relevant subject from a university/deemed university established by law in India, together with a B.Ed (Shiksha Snatak) degree from an NCTE-recognised programme. A few subjects have a distinct qualification pattern: Subject Group Qualification Most subjects (Hindi, English, Economics, Sociology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Commerce, History, Psychology, Education, Sanskrit, Urdu, Home Science, Geography, Military Science, Biology, Civics, Philosophy, Agriculture, Agronomy, etc.) Postgraduate degree in the relevant subject from a university/deemed university/institution established by law in India, AND a B.Ed (Shiksha Snatak) degree from an NCTE-recognised programme. Music – Vocal / Music – Instrumental (Sangeet Gayan/Vadan) Postgraduate degree in Music, or a Bachelor's degree in Music with specialisation (vocal/instrumental) plus relevant qualifications, from a university/deemed university/institution established by law in India, along with a B.Ed from an NCTE-recognised programme. Physical Education (Sharirik Shiksha) Graduate degree from a university/deemed university/institution established by law in India, AND M.P.Ed (Master's in Physical Education). Painting Arts (Ranjan Kala) High School plus a Diploma in Fine Arts (including drawing) from a government-recognised art institution, AND a B.Ed (Shiksha Snatak) degree from an NCTE-recognised programme. Candidates must possess the requisite educational qualification by the closing date for accepting applications. UPESSC Pravakta Nationality Applicants must be citizens of India. UPESSC Pravakta Reservation Details Vertical reservation for SC, ST, OBC, and EWS categories, subject-wise and gender-wise (boys'/girls' schools), is set out in Table-1 of the notification, following the U.P. Public Services (Reservation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes) Act, 1994, and the U.P. Public Services (Reservation for Economically Weaker Sections) Act, 2020. Horizontal reservation applies as per rules for categories including Ex-servicemen and dependents of freedom fighters, and specified categories of physically disabled candidates (as notified by the government for the Pravakta post). Non-domicile (outside Uttar Pradesh) candidates claiming a reserved category are not eligible for reservation benefits and are treated as General category candidates.

2. If the tie persists, the candidate with higher interview marks is ranked higher.
3. If the tie still persists, the candidate with a higher percentage in postgraduate qualification is ranked higher.
4. If the tie still persists, the candidate with a higher percentage in the training qualification (B.Ed/equivalent) is ranked higher.
5. If the tie still persists, the older candidate is ranked higher.
