TNPSC Group 2 & 2A Recruitment 2026 Notification Out - Apply Online for 821 Assistant, Clerk and More Posts

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has released TNPSC Group 2 Recruitment 2026 and TNPSC Group 2A Recruitment 2026 together under a single notification - Combined Civil Services Examination-II (Group II and IIA Services), Notification No. 07/2026, Advertisement No. 740, dated 11.08.2026. TNPSC is inviting online applications for 821 vacancies across Group II Services (41 posts) and Group IIA Services (780 posts) in various Tamil Nadu Government departments. Online applications can be submitted only through www.tnpscexams.in from 11.08.2026, and the last date to apply online is 09.09.2026. The TNPSC Group 2 Preliminary Examination is scheduled for 01.11.2026.

Candidates not belonging to SC/SC(A)/ST/MBC/DC/BC(OBCM)/BCM who have completed five years or more of government service are not eligible, even if within the age limit. | Only persons professing the Hindu religion are eligible for Audit Inspector (Post Code 1029), Executive Officer Grade III (Post Code 1654), and Assistant, HR&CE (Post Code 2271). | Male candidates cannot apply for Jailor (Special Prison for Women) or Male Warden; female candidates cannot apply for Jailor (Men). | Persons with colour blindness or night blindness are disqualified for Assistant Inspector (Post Code 1068) and Handloom Inspector (Post Code 1868). | Persons with benchmark disabilities are not eligible for Jailor (Men), Jailor (Special Prison for Women), Special Assistant, and Special Branch Assistant (Post Codes 2279 and 3116).

1. Common Preliminary Examination: A single objective-type paper (screening test only); marks are not counted for final merit.
2. Main Examination: Separate Main Examinations for Group II Services and Group IIA Services. Each Main Examination has two papers - Paper I (Tamil Eligibility Test, qualifying in nature) and Paper II (counted for ranking).
3. Onscreen Certificate Verification: Based on Main Examination Paper II marks, candidates are admitted in the ratio of 1:3 (General category) and 1:2 (Reserved categories).
4. Physical Certificate Verification and Counselling: Candidates are admitted in the ratio of 1:3 (General category) and 1:1.5 (Reserved categories), based on rank.
