Nationality A candidate must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from certain specified countries with the intention of settling permanently in India (candidates in the latter categories require an eligibility certificate from the Government of India). SSC CHSL Qualification Post Qualification Required DEO/DEO Grade 'A' in Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, SSC, and Ministry of Culture 12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject, from a recognised Board LDC/JSA and DEO/DEO Grade 'A' (all other Departments/Ministries) 12th Standard pass or equivalent examination from a recognised Board or University Candidates who have appeared for their Class 12 exam can also apply, but they must have the qualifying result declared on or before 07 October 2026. Only a declared result counts - a result "under process" does not meet the requirement.

This means candidates born not before 02 August 1999 and not later than 01 August 2008 are eligible to apply. Age relaxation is available as per government norms.
