Ship Building Centre, Visakhapatnam (SBC), a work centre under the Ministry of Defence (R&D), has invited online applications for SBC Visakhapatnam Recruitment 2026 under Advertisement No. 3201/2026. The recruitment is for General Central Service Group 'C', Technical/Non-Technical, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial posts, covering a total of 9 vacancies across four posts - Construction Assistant 'A' (Fitter), Construction Handler (Electrician), Fire Engine Driver (Ordinary Grade), and Civilian Motor Transport Driver (Ordinary Grade).

Post Code Educational/Technical Qualification CA'A' (i) Secondary School Certificate (10th Standard pass under 10+2 system); (ii) Industrial Training Institute (ITI)/National Apprentice Certificate (NAC) or equivalent in the required trade; (iii) Two years' experience in the required trade CH (i) Secondary School Certificate (10th Standard pass under 10+2 system); (ii) Certificate from a recognised Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in the required trade FED (OG) (i) Valid driving license for heavy motor vehicles; (ii) Knowledge of motor mechanism (able to remove minor defects); (iii) At least 3 years' experience driving a heavy motor vehicle; (iv) Pass in 10th standard from a recognized Board; (v) Must be physically fit and capable of performing strenuous duties CMTD (OG) (i) Valid driving license for motor cars and light motor vehicles; (ii) Knowledge of motor mechanism (able to remove minor defects); (iii) At least 3 years' experience driving a motor car; (iv) Pass in 10th standard from a recognized Board. Desirable: valid Driving License for Heavy Vehicles SSC from recognized Boards will also be considered for 10th Standard proof. No weightage is given for additional qualifications beyond those prescribed in the Recruitment Rules; possession of higher academic/technical qualifications does not entitle a candidate to claim higher pay parity or any other benefit beyond what is admissible for the applied post. Only Matriculation/SSC certificate issued by the concerned Education Board will be considered as proof of Date of Birth. Age Relaxation: Category Age Relaxation ST 5 years (applicable for reserved post only) PwBDs 10 years Departmental Candidates (3 years regular & continuous Central Govt. service as on closing date) Up to 40 years of age; ST candidates up to 45 (40+5) years of age, subject to the past service being useful for efficient discharge of duties in the category of posts No relaxation in age limit will be provided unless the category is filled appropriately in the relevant column of the online application form.

1. All applicants (CA'A', CH, FED-OG, CMTD-OG) must appear in the online Computer Based Test (CBT).
2. There is no Endurance Test/Skill Test for CA'A' and CH applicants; the final provisional merit for these posts is based on CBT merit only.
3. For FED(OG): candidates are shortlisted in a ratio of at least 1:15 (vacancy:shortlisted) based on CBT merit for a qualifying Endurance Test (carrying filled sand & water buckets 100m in 45 seconds, 20 squats, 15 push-ups, 15 bent-knee sit-ups), followed by a qualifying Skill Test (driving tests, vehicle mechanism knowledge, tyre-changing, minor repairs, firefighting awareness, etc.).
4. For CMTD(OG): candidates are shortlisted in a ratio of at least 1:15 based on CBT merit for a qualifying Skill Test (driving on ramp/road, road rules, vehicle mechanism knowledge, routine vehicle checks). There is no Endurance Test for CMTD(OG).
5. Skill Test/Endurance Test is qualifying in nature only; the final merit list for FED(OG) and CMTD(OG) is based on CBT merit, subject to qualifying in the respective test(s).
6. In case of a tie in aggregate marks, it is resolved first by Date of Birth (older candidate ranked higher), and if still tied, by alphabetical order of first names.
7. Provisional appointment is strictly based on relative merit position in the CBT, subject to document verification, medical examination, and other requirements.
