Rail Wheel Factory (RWF) Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 Notification Out – Apply Offline for 15 Sportsperson Posts

Rail Wheel Factory (RWF), Yelahanka, Bangalore, a unit under the Ministry of Railways, has released a notification inviting applications from eligible sportspersons against Sports Quota (Open Advertisement) for the year 2026-27. A total of 15 posts are available across Level-2 (GP 1900) and Level-1 (GP 1800) in disciplines such as Badminton, Table Tennis, Cricket, Hockey, Football, and Kabaddi. Interested candidates can apply offline on or before 24 August 2026.

Sportspersons must satisfy the minimum sports norms and educational qualification prescribed for the respective post/level, as on the date of the notification. | Candidates appearing for or awaiting results of their final examination are not eligible to apply. | No relaxation in minimum educational qualification is permissible. | No post is exclusively reserved for any community such as SC/ST/OBC. | Recognized sports achievements must fall within the current and/or immediate previous two financial years, i.e., on or after 1 April 2024, and the candidate must be an active player. | Sportspersons possessing norms for a higher pay level who apply against vacancies of a lower level will also be considered, provided they submit an undertaking that they will not claim the higher level after joining Railways.

The notification does not specify the exact monthly salary figures. Posts are recruited against Level-2 (GP 1900) and Level-1 (GP 1800) of the RS(RP) Rules, 2016, and all recruitments will be made at the minimum of the applicable pay scale. 1. All eligible candidates will be called for document verification and trials.
2. Only candidates declared FIT (securing 25 or more out of 40 marks for game skill, physical fitness, and coach's observations during trials) will be assessed further; those declared UNFIT will not proceed.
3. Distribution of marks: Game skill, physical fitness & coach's observations during trials - 40 marks; Assessment of recognized sports achievements as per norms - 50 marks; Educational qualification - 10 marks; Total - 100 marks.
4. Minimum qualifying marks: Level-2 (GP 1900) - 65 marks; Level-1 (GP 1800) - 60 marks.
5. The offer of appointment will be given purely on merit; in case of a tie, preference is given to the younger candidate.
6. Sportspersons recruited as Junior Clerk/Accounts Clerk must pass the requisite typewriting test within 4 years of appointment, failing which regular increments after 4 years will not be released.
