PGIMER Nursing Officer Recruitment 2026 Notification Out - Apply Online for 243 Posts

The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh has released an official notification (Advertisement No. PGI/RC/055/2026/2276 dated 09.09.2026) inviting online applications for 243 posts of Nursing Officer (Group 'B') . The recruitment is on a Direct Recruitment basis and is open to citizens of India who meet the prescribed eligibility conditions.

Option A: B.Sc. (Hons) in Nursing from a recognized University or Institute, OR Regular course in B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized University or Institute, OR Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized University or Institute; AND Registered as a Nurse or Nurse and mid-wife (RN or RN & RM) with a State Nursing Council. | Option B: Diploma in General Nursing and Mid-wifery (GNM) from a recognized Board or Council; Registered as a Nurse or Nurse and mid-wife from a State Nursing Council; AND one year of experience in a minimum fifty-bedded hospital after acquiring the above qualification.

The age limit for PGIMER Nursing Officer Recruitment 2026 is 18 to 35 years, calculated as on the last date of submission of the online application, i.e., 03.10.2026. Date of Birth as recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate will be accepted; no subsequent request for change will be considered. Selected candidates for the post of Nursing Officer will be placed in Pay Level-7 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, with a pay scale of Rs. 44,900 – 142,400/- . 1. General/EWS category: minimum 40% marks
2. SC/ST/OBC categories: minimum 35% marks
3. PwBD candidates: minimum qualifying marks as prescribed for their respective caste category (General/SC/ST/OBC)
4. Reserved category candidates applying against an unreserved (UR) post: minimum 40% for all categories
5. Computer Based Test (CBT): Objective-type MCQs as per the pattern above.
6. Shortlisting: Candidates who qualify the CBT as per the minimum qualifying criteria will be shortlisted category-wise. The number of candidates shortlisted will be 3 times the number of advertised posts (plus ties), for further scrutiny and document verification.
7. Scrutiny of Applications: Applications of shortlisted candidates are checked against the applicable recruitment rules and uploaded documents.
8. Provisional Result (Selected/Waitlisted): Declared based on merit in the CBT for candidates found eligible by the scrutiny committee.
9. Document Verification: Provisionally selected/waitlisted candidates are called for in-person document verification with original certificates.
10. Final Selection: Made purely on merit based on CBT marks, after documents are found in order.
