Passed Middle School Examination with Odia as a language subject; or | Passed Matriculation or an equivalent examination with Odia as the medium of examination in a non-language subject; or | Passed Odia as a language subject in the final examination of Class VII from a School or Educational Institution recognised by the Government of Odisha or the Central Government; or | Passed a test in Odia at Middle English School Standard, conducted by the School & Mass Education Department, Government of Odisha, or the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha. | Must be a citizen of India. | Must be of sound mental condition and bodily health, free from any physical or mental defect likely to interfere with the discharge of duties (this provision does not apply to physically handicapped candidates); every selected candidate will be examined by a Medical Board. | A candidate with more than one living spouse is not eligible unless exempted by the State Government for good and sufficient reasons. | Serving Government servants (temporary or permanent) are eligible if they meet the age and qualification criteria, but must inform their Head of Office in writing and furnish a No Objection Certificate at the time of document verification. | Candidates debarred by OPSC, another State PSC, or UPSC from appearing in any examination/interview for a specific period are not eligible to apply during that period.

Selection process

  1. Both papers are Objective Type (MCQ) with OMR-based evaluation; each question carries 1 mark.
  2. Negative marking: 25% of the marks allotted to a question is deducted for each wrong answer; unattempted questions receive zero marks.
  3. The Commission will fix qualifying marks for each paper and/or in aggregate, category-wise.
  4. Candidates meeting the qualifying marks are shortlisted for the Personality Test in a ratio of about 1:2 of the advertised vacancies (category-wise), subject to a minimum of 5 candidates per category.
