MECON Draftsman Recruitment 2026 Notification Out - Apply Online for 17 Posts

MECON Limited, a Premier Miniratna, Schedule 'A' Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Steel, has invited online applications for the engagement of Draftsman on a contractual basis. A total of 17 vacancies are notified across six post codes covering Civil & Structural, Material Handling, Iron Making, GMMB, and Oil & Gas disciplines, at MECON's Ranchi and Delhi locations. Online applications can be submitted from 1 August 2026 to 15 August 2026 through MECON's official website, meconlimited.co.in. Selection is through Personal Interview and a Hands-on test, with an initial contract of 3 years and a monthly contract fee of ₹30,000.

Diploma in Engineering with 3 years' drafting experience in the relevant field in any organisation; OR | ITI with 5 years' drafting experience in the relevant field in any organisation; OR | 12th/Intermediate pass with 7 years' drafting experience in the relevant field in any organisation. | The Diploma in Engineering/ITI must be acquired through a Regular/Full Time course only. | Candidates must have secured a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the requisite educational qualification; 44.99% will not be rounded up to 45%. | Where only grades (CGPA/OGPA/GGPA/SGPA) are awarded instead of percentage, candidates must mention the equivalent percentage and submit a grade-to-percentage conversion document from their University/Institute; on a 10-point scale, a grade of 4.5 is considered equivalent to 45%. | The qualification must be from a University/Institute recognised by the Government or accredited by bodies such as UGC/AICTE/MCI/ICAI/ICSI. | Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply. | Experience must be of a relevant nature with a drafting/engineering organisation. | For intermittent jobs, only the actual days engaged in relevant work are considered. | Freelance experience is not considered, as it cannot establish a full-time job record. | Entrepreneurial experience is not considered. | Apprenticeship period under the Apprentices Act is considered towards required experience.

1. Selection is through Personal Interview and a Hands-on test; the mode may be changed at the discretion of Management.
2. Shortlisting for the interview/test is based on scrutiny of the application against the information, declarations, and supporting documents submitted online.
3. The provisional shortlist, along with interview date, time, and venue, will be uploaded on MECON's website and communicated to candidates via their registered email.
4. Further scrutiny of the application is undertaken on the date of the interview; if any claim is not substantiated, the candidate will not be permitted to appear for the interview/test, and no TA will be paid.
5. The final list of selected candidates will be uploaded on MECON's website, with Document Verification and Medical Examination details communicated via website and registered email only.
6. Selected candidates must undergo Medical Examination and possess valid medical insurance for the duration of engagement; deployment is subject to being found medically fit.
