IOB Generalist/SO Recruitment 2026 - Apply Online for 291 Manager, Assistant Manager and Senior Manager Posts

Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has released a notification for the recruitment of Generalist and Specialist Officers in Various Scales 2026-27 (Advt. No. HRDD/RECT/04/2026-27, dated 28.08.2026). IOB Recruitment 2026 invites applications for 291 vacancies across 14 posts in JMG Scale I, MMG Scale II, and MMG Scale III. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online from 29.08.2026 to 15.09.2026 through the official website www.iob.bank.in . No other mode of application will be accepted. Selection will be through an Online Examination followed by an Interview, with the final merit list based on 80% weightage to the Online Examination and 20% to the Interview.

Eligibility (age, educational qualification, and post-qualification work experience) is assessed as on 01.08.2026 for all posts. Candidates must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India (subject to an eligibility certificate from the Government of India for the latter categories). 1. Selection is through an Online Examination followed by a Personal Interview.
2. For Post Code 01 (Manager – Branch Management): the Online Examination has 100 questions/100 marks in 2 hours, covering English Language (25Q, 30 minutes) and Professional Knowledge – Banking Law & Practice, Indian Economy & Financial System, Principles & Practices of Banking, Accounting & Financial Management (75Q, 90 minutes).
3. For all other posts: the Online Examination has 100 questions/100 marks in 2 hours, covering English Language (25Q, 30 minutes), General Awareness with special reference to Banking Industry (25Q, 30 minutes), and Professional Knowledge, which varies post-wise (50Q, 60 minutes).
4. There is no minimum qualifying mark for General Awareness and English Language; candidates must secure minimum qualifying marks in Professional Knowledge.
5. Minimum qualifying marks in the Online Examination: 35% for unreserved candidates, 30% for reserved candidates.
6. 1/4th of the marks allotted to a question is deducted for a wrong answer; there is no penalty for unattempted questions.
7. The Interview carries a maximum of 100 marks, assessed on Role-related Industry Exposure, Subject Knowledge, and Communication Skills. Minimum qualifying marks: 50% for unreserved, 45% for reserved candidates.
8. The final merit list is prepared with 80% weightage to the Online Examination and 20% weightage to the Interview.
