About this recruitment
The Indian Army has invited online applications from unmarried male and female law graduates for the Short Service Commission (JAG) Course under the JAG Entry Scheme 125th Course (April 2027) . This recruitment offers 10 combined vacancies in the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Branch of the Indian Army. Eligible candidates must hold an LLB degree and a valid CLAT PG 2026 score to apply. Particulars Details Age Limit 21 to 27 years as on 01 Jan 2027 Date of Birth Range Not earlier than 02 Jan 2000 and not later than 01 Jan 2006 (both dates inclusive) The date of birth recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary School Examination Certificate (or equivalent) on the date of application submission will be treated as final; no subsequent request for change will be considered.
Pay and allowances
Stipend during training at OTA, Chennai: ₹56,100 per month. Rank after training: Lieutenant. Pay Level on commissioning: Level 10, ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500. Military Service Pay (MSP): ₹15,500 per month (Lieutenant to Brigadier). Approximate CTC on commissioning: ₹17–18 lakh per annum. Additional allowances (as applicable and subject to eligibility conditions): Dearness Allowance, Para Allowance, Field Area Allowances, Dress Allowance, Transport Allowance, Children Education Allowance, Hostel Subsidy, among others specified in the notification.

Selection process
- Application submission and shortlisting (based on CLAT PG 2026 score and vacancy-to-call-up ratio).
- Selection of SSB Centre and Date (first-come-first-served, once selected cannot be changed by the candidate).
- SSB Interview (two-stage selection at Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru, or Jalandhar) - duration up to five days. Candidates failing Stage-I are returned the same day.
- Medical Examination for candidates recommended after Stage-II.
- Merit List preparation based on SSB marks.
- Joining Letter for Pre-Commission Training at OTA, Chennai, subject to eligibility and vacancy.
