GSSSB Recruitment 2026 - Apply Online for 41 Research Assistant, Statistical Assistant Posts

The Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB) has released Advertisement No. 457/202627, inviting online applications for 41 Class-3 posts of Research Assistant and Statistical Assistant under the Directorate of Statistics and Economics, Gandhinagar. This GSSSB Recruitment 2026 drive is meant to prepare a direct-recruitment selection list, and eligible candidates can apply online at ojas.gujarat.gov.in from 9 September 2026 to 23 September 2026.

Requirement Details Educational Qualification A postgraduate degree, or a bachelor's degree with Statistics, Applied Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, Business Statistics, Economics, Applied Economics, Business Economics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or Advanced Statistics as a principal subject, from a university established/incorporated under a State Act in India or a UGC-recognised institution Computer Knowledge Basic computer application knowledge as prescribed under Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967 - candidates without this certificate may still apply but must produce it before appointment, or their selection will be cancelled Language Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi, or both Nationality Must be a citizen of India, or possess the nationality specified under Rule 7 of the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967

As on 23/09/2026, candidates must be not less than 18 years and not more than 37 years of age. Age relaxation is available as per the table below (all relaxations subject to a maximum age of 45 years, except where noted). Selected candidates will receive a fixed monthly salary for the first five years, after which they become eligible for the regular pay scale (as per the 7th Pay Commission) subject to satisfactory service - and subject to the outcome of pending Supreme Court SLP Nos. 14124/2012 and 14125/2012. 1. Part-A (90 marks, 90 questions): Reasoning & Data Interpretation (30), Quantitative Aptitude (30), Constitution of India, Current Affairs & Gujarati-English Comprehension (30)
2. Part-B (120 marks, 120 questions): Subject-related questions based on educational qualification - Statistics (30), Official Statistics (30), Mathematics (30), Economics (30)
3. Total: 210 questions, 210 marks, combined duration of 3 hours (180 minutes)
4. Negative marking: 1/4 mark deducted for each wrong answer
5. Minimum qualifying standard: 40% in Part-A and 40% in Part-B, independently, for all categories
6. Candidates (roughly twice the category-wise vacancies) are called for document verification based on provisional merit
7. Final selection list is prepared based on marks obtained, subject to category-wise vacancies
