GMCH Chandigarh Recruitment 2026 – Walk in for 64 Senior Residents, CMO and More Posts

Government Medical College & Hospital (GMCH), Chandigarh has invited applications from Indian Nationals for filling 64 tenure posts of Senior Residents, Casualty Medical Officers (CMO) in General Medicine and General Surgery, Resident Anaesthetist, and Resident Pathologist. Selection will be through a walk-in interview scheduled on 20 July 2026 (Monday). These are tenure posts, and appointments will be made for a period of 44 days. The notice is issued by the Establishment Branch-II, GMCH, Chandigarh, dated 15 July 2026.

A Postgraduate Medical Degree, i.e., M.D./M.S./DNB/M.Ch./D.M. or equivalent in the concerned specialty, as per the Central Residency Scheme | The degree must be recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and the candidate registered with either the Medical Council of India or a State Medical Council | Candidates who have already completed a three-year tenure of Senior Residency are not eligible for the post of Senior Resident

Upper age limit as on 1 July 2026: 45 years , applicable for Senior Residents, CMO (General Medicine & General Surgery), Resident Anaesthetist, and Resident Pathologist. Age Relaxation Category Relaxation Widows, deserted women, and women judicially separated from their husbands (not remarried) 10 years

2. Persons who previously worked at this institute and whose services were terminated on account of misconduct or otherwise are not eligible to apply
