GMC Wanaparthy Recruitment 2026 – Walk in for 160 Professor, Associate Professor and More Posts

Government Medical College (GMC), Wanaparthy District, Telangana, has released a notification (Rc.No.1881-1/GMC/WNP/2026, dated 06.08.2026) inviting applications for 160 faculty posts on contract and honorarium basis. The vacancies include Professor (25), Associate Professor (43), Assistant Professor (29), Tutor (30) on contract basis, and Senior Resident (33) on honorarium basis, spread across 32 medical specialties at GMC and Government General Hospital, Wanaparthy, under the Director of Medical Education, Telangana. These are purely temporary engagements up to 31.03.2027, or till the actual need ceases, or till regular posts are filled, whichever is earliest. Selection is through a walk-in interview scheduled for 12.08.2026 (Wednesday) between 10 AM and 4 PM at GMC, Wanaparthy. Eligible candidates holding MBBS, MD/MS/DNB, or relevant MSc/PhD qualifications as applicable to each post can attend the interview directly with original documents.

MD/MS/DNB in the concerned subject as per TEQ Regulation of NMC Guidelines. | 8 years' post-PG experience, including at least 3 years as Associate Professor in the subject at a permitted/recognised medical college or institution. | At least four research publications (at least two as Associate Professor) in journals indexed in Medline, PubMed Central, Science Citation Index, Science Citation Index Expanded, Embase, Scopus, or DOAJ. | Completion of the Basic Course in Medical Education Technology and the Basic Course in Biomedical Research, both from institutions designated by NMC. | MBBS and additional qualification must be registered with the Telangana State Medical Council. | MD/MS/DNB in the concerned subject as per TEQ Regulation of NMC Guidelines. | 5 years' post-PG experience, including at least 4 years as Assistant Professor in the subject at a permitted/recognised medical college or institution. | At least two research publications in journals indexed in Medline, PubMed Central, Science Citation Index, Science Citation Index Expanded, Embase, Scopus, or DOAJ. | Completion of the Basic Course in Medical Education Technology and the Basic Course in Biomedical Research from institutions designated by NMC. | MBBS and additional qualification must be registered with the Telangana State Medical Council. | MD/MS/DNB in the concerned subject as per TEQ Regulation of NMC Guidelines. | For Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry departments, an MSc (relevant medical subject) and PhD (relevant medical subject) granted as a regular on-campus course by a recognised medical college/institute is also accepted. | One year as Senior Resident in the concerned subject at a recognised/permitted medical college after acquiring the MD/MS degree. | Non-medical teachers may be selected up to 15% of the total posts in a department, subject to non-availability of medical teachers. | MBBS and additional qualification must be registered with the Telangana State Medical Council. | MD/MS/DNB/MDS in the concerned subject as per TEQ Regulation of NMC Guidelines. | MBBS and additional qualification registered with the Telangana State Medical Council, or BDS and additional qualification registered with the Telangana Dental Council. | MBBS. | MBBS must be registered with the Telangana State Medical Council.

Selected candidates will receive a fixed consolidated monthly remuneration as per the post, inclusive of all components and subject to applicable tax deduction at source and other statutory deductions. 1. For Assistant Professor and Senior Resident posts, selection is based on marks obtained in the MD/MS/DNB/DM/MCh/MDS PG degree examination. If marks are not awarded in the qualifying exam, 50% marks will be considered.
2. Rule of reservation will be followed wherever applicable.
3. Selection is nationwide; first preference is given to local candidates, and candidates from other states will be considered only if local candidates are not available. Local cadre rules will be followed as per Presidential Order (PO) 2018.
4. DNB candidates will be selected as per the latest NMC guidelines.
5. Selected candidates must submit a relieving order from their previous institute; failure to do so will result in cancellation of selection.
6. Candidates already working in any other Telangana Government Medical College on contract basis in the same cadre are not eligible to apply.
