Computer proficiency: At least a 120-hour course with "hands-on experience" in the use of a personal computer, or "Information Technology in Office Productivity Application," or "Desktop Publishing Applications," from a Government-recognised institution or a reputed ISO 9001-certified institution - OR a passed course in Computer Information Technology equivalent to the "O" level certificate of the Department of Electronics Accreditation of Computer Courses (DOEACC), Government of India. | Punjabi language: Must have passed the Matriculation examination in Punjabi Language from the Punjab School Education Board, or any other recognised Board (as first, second, or additional language), or an equivalent examination in Punjabi as may be specified by GADVASU from time to time, on or before the last date of submission of application. | Maintaining stock registers and ensuring timely entry of stock receipts and issues. | Maintaining inventory registers and records of consumable and non-consumable articles. | Keeping stock registers updated at all times in accordance with stock transactions and store requirements. | Assessing and processing requirements of store articles from time to time. | Preparing unserviceable items for auction/disposal as per prescribed procedure. | Ensuring proper maintenance and custody of store records and inventories. | Any other duty assigned from time to time.

Selection process

  1. Qualifying in nature only; minimum qualifying marks: 50%.
  2. Maximum duration: 60 minutes. No negative marking.
  3. Marks are not counted towards the final merit.
  4. Consists of PART-A and PART-B; marks count towards the final merit.
  5. Candidates must score a minimum of 40% marks in PART-A and PART-B separately to qualify.
  6. Negative marking: 0.25 mark deducted per wrong answer. Maximum duration: 100 minutes.
  7. Exam-II (Main Examination): A single-part, 100-question, 100-mark objective exam covering General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Punjab History & Culture, Logical Reasoning & Mental Ability, Punjabi, English, and ICT. Minimum qualifying marks: 40%. Negative marking: 0.25 mark per wrong answer. Duration: 100 minutes. Marks count towards final merit.
  8. Typing Proficiency Test: Conducted separately in Punjabi (Unicode-compliant Raavi font) and English on computer, 10 minutes each with a 15-minute gap between the two. Candidates must achieve a minimum gross typing speed of 30 words per minute in both languages, with a maximum of 8% mistakes allowed in each. A candidate must qualify both language tests to be included in the merit list. This test is qualifying only; marks are not counted towards the final merit.
  9. Exam-II (Main Examination): Same format as for Clerk - 100 questions, 100 marks, covering General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Punjab History & Culture, Logical Reasoning & Mental Ability, Punjabi, English, and ICT. Minimum qualifying marks: 40%. Negative marking: 0.25 mark per wrong answer. Duration: 100 minutes.
  10. Shorthand Proficiency Test: Conducted separately in English and Punjabi. Candidates take dictation at 80 words per minute and transcribe at 15 words per minute; the dictation passage consists of 400 words in two 200-word paragraphs. A maximum of 8% mistakes is permitted in each language separately, and a candidate must qualify both languages. Unlike the Clerk post's typing test, marks from this test count towards the final merit.
  11. The candidate older in age is ranked higher.
  12. If the tie persists, the candidate with a higher percentage of marks in Graduation is ranked higher.
  13. If the tie still persists, the candidate with a higher percentage of marks in the Matriculation Examination is ranked higher.
