B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc. in Physics/ Electronics/ Applied Physics/ Optics/ Photonics with NET/GATE or M.E./M.Tech with First Division at Graduate & Post Graduate level for SRF/JRF. Bachelor's degree in any discipline with computer proficiency for Project Assistant.

SRF: Max 32 years. JRF/PA: Max 28 years. Age relaxation applicable. Senior Research Fellow (SRF): Maximum age limit is 32 years. Age relaxation applicable for SC/ST (05 years), Women & PwBD (05 years), OBC (NCL) (03 years). Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Maximum age limit is 28 years. Age relaxation applicable for SC/ST (05 years), Women & PwBD (05 years), OBC (NCL) (03 years). Project Assistant (PA): Maximum age limit is 28 years. Age relaxation applicable for SC/ST (05 years), Women & PwBD (05 years), OBC (NCL) (03 years).

SRF: ₹42,000/- + 30% HRA (with NET/GATE) or ₹33,000/- + 30% HRA (without NET/GATE). JRF: ₹37,000/- + 30% HRA (1st & 2nd year), ₹42,000/- + 30% HRA (3rd year) (with NET/GATE) or ₹30,000/- + 30% HRA (without NET/GATE). PA: ₹22,000/- + 30% HRA.
