Candidates checking eligibility for the Delhi Higher Judicial Service Examination 2026 must note that the post requires either a practising Advocate with minimum 7 years of continuous practice or a Judicial Officer with the equivalent combined experience, along with a specific age band. The relevant date for determining both age and experience eligibility is the last date of receipt of applications, i.e., 15 July 2026. Age Limit (as on 15 July 2026) Minimum Age Maximum Age 35 years 45 years Experience / Practice Eligibility Candidate Type Experience Requirement Advocate Continuously practising for not less than 7 years as on 15 July 2026 Judicial Officer (with prior Bar experience) Must have already completed 7 years in Bar before recruitment in subordinate judicial service, OR 7 years combined experience as Judicial Officer and Advocate as on 15 July 2026 Person in judicial service Combined experience of 7 years or more as an Advocate or Judicial Officer as on 15 July 2026 Candidates must be a citizen of India. Persons dismissed from service by the Central/State Government, High Courts, or statutory/local authorities are not eligible to apply.

High Court of Delhi has released the Delhi Higher Judicial Service (HJS) Examination 2026 notification for 27 vacancies (24 existing + 03 anticipated) through direct recruitment. Advocates with a minimum of 7 years of continuous practice and aged between 35 and 45 years as on 15 July 2026 can apply online from 01 July 2026 to 15 July 2026. Selected candidates will be appointed in the pay scale of ₹1,44,840–₹1,94,660 (J-5). The Preliminary Examination is tentatively scheduled for 26 July 2026 (Sunday).
