Qualification

Eligibility for CSIR CMERI Technician Recruitment 2026 is based on a common educational qualification pattern applicable to all trades, with three alternative routes depending on experience level. Age limit is uniform across all posts, with relaxation available for reserved categories. Educational Qualification (Common for All Trades) Candidates applying under Route 1 need SSC/10th Standard or equivalent with Science subjects and minimum 55% marks , along with an ITI certificate or National/State Trade Certificate in the relevant trade (Fitter, Electrician/Mechanic Electrical Power Drives, Electronics Mechanic/Instrument Mechanic, Machinist, Foundryman, Mechanic Motor Vehicle/Diesel, or Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning) from a recognized institution. Alternatively, under Route 2, candidates with SSC/10th Standard with Science subjects and minimum 55% marks can qualify with 2 years' full-time experience as an apprentice trainee in the relevant trade from a recognized institution. Under Route 3, candidates with the same academic qualification can also qualify with 3 years of work experience in the relevant trade in a Ministry/Department/Organization/Public Sector Undertaking/Autonomous Body under Government of India/State/UT. Age Limit The age limit for CSIR CMERI Technician posts is 18 to 28 years , with relaxation available for SC, OBC-NCL, PwBD, and ESM candidates as per Government of India rules.
