Qualification

Candidates must have passed the particular trade (except Glass Former and Processor) of the NCVT pattern designated by the Director General of Employment & Training (D.G.E.&T). | Candidates must be registered as Trade Apprentices in the NAPS portal before the date of the walk-in interview. | A full-time graduate degree granted by a recognized university/institution in the relevant discipline. | A full-time Diploma in Engineering/Technology granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education established by a State Government/University/Institution in the relevant discipline. | Graduates/Technicians who passed their qualifying examination in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026 are eligible to apply. | Candidates holding any Post Graduation qualification (including an integrated PG course). | Candidates who passed from institutions not approved by AICTE/DOTE/UGC. | Candidates who have already undergone, or are currently pursuing, apprenticeship training in the same qualification as per the Apprenticeship Act, 1961. | Candidates with one year or more of work experience in any organization after acquiring the essential qualification. | Sandwich diplomas, private diplomas, and part-time/distance/short-term/certificate courses are not acceptable.

CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CSIR-CECRI), Karaikudi - a premier institute functioning under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science & Technology - has invited applications for a walk-in interview to engage 27 Apprentice Trainees across Trade (ITI), Technician (Diploma), and Graduate (Degree) categories. The engagement is to impart training under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 (as amended). The walk-in interview will be held on 10 August 2026 (Monday) at CSIR-CECRI, Karaikudi.

Eligibility

Age is calculated as on the date of the interview, i.e., 10 August 2026. Category of Apprenticeship Minimum Age Maximum Age Trade (ITI) 14 years No limit Technician (Diploma) 18 years 24 years Graduate (Degree) 21 years 26 years Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules for reserved categories. Ex-servicemen: The upper age limit is relaxed by an additional 10 years, to the extent of service rendered in the Defence Forces.

Selection process

  1. Selection is through a walk-in interview at CSIR-CECRI, Karaikudi.
  2. If the number of candidates is higher than the available vacancies, the Selection Committee will adopt its own criteria to shortlist candidates for the walk-in interview, in proportion to the available vacancies.
  3. The applicant's candidature is provisional and subject to subsequent verification of certificates and testimonials.
