CMRL Recruitment 2026 - Apply Online for Manager, General Manager and More Posts

CMRL Recruitment 2026 notification has been officially released by Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) under Employment Notification No. CMRL/HR/CON/DEP/04/2026 dated 01-07-2026. CMRL is inviting applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the posts of Chief General Manager (CGM), General Manager (GM), Joint General Manager (JGM - Architect), Deputy General Manager (DGM - Finance & Accounts), and Manager (Architect) on a contract or deputation basis. Govt Organization: Officer with 5 years' service in Senior Administrative Grade (SAG) in Railways/equivalent in GoI, or 5 years as Chief Engineer in State Govt organizations. | Metro/PSU: Minimum 25 years post-qualification executive experience with at least 3 years as GM in IDA pay scale Rs. 1,20,000-2,80,000 or equivalent. | Private Sector: Minimum 25 years post-qualification executive experience with at least 3 years in top management reporting directly to a Director or Board, in a company with project size of at least Rs. 500 crore or turnover of at least Rs. 100 crore in the last 3 years. | Govt Organization: IRSEE officer with 5 years' service in SAG in Railways/equivalent, or 5 years as Chief Engineer in State Govt organizations. | Metro/PSU and Private Sector: Same experience criteria as above (25 years experience, 3 years as GM/equivalent top management). | Govt Organization: Officer working in SAG in Railways/equivalent, or as Chief Engineer in State Govt organizations. | Metro/PSU: Minimum 20 years experience with at least 3 years as AGM in IDA pay scale Rs. 1,00,000-2,60,000 or equivalent. | Private Sector: Minimum 20 years experience with at least 3 years in top management (equivalent to AGM in PSU), reporting to Director/Board. | Govt Organization: Officer in Junior Administrative Grade (JAG) in Railways/equivalent, or Executive Engineer (EE) cadre in State Govt with minimum 15 years' experience. | Metro/PSU: Minimum 15 years experience with at least 4 years as DGM in IDA pay scale Rs. 80,000-2,20,000 or equivalent. | Private Sector: Minimum 15 years experience with at least 4 years in senior management (equivalent to DGM in PSU). | Govt Organization: Officer with 3 years' service in Senior Time Scale (STS) in Railways/equivalent, or Chief Accounts Officer (CAO) cadre in State Govt with minimum 13 years' experience. | Metro/PSU: Minimum 13 years experience with at least 4 years as Manager in IDA pay scale Rs. 70,000-2,00,000 or equivalent. | Private Sector: Minimum 13 years experience with at least 4 years in middle management (equivalent to Manager in PSU). | Govt Organization: Officer in Senior Time Scale (STS) in Railways/equivalent, or Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) cadre in State Govt with 7 years' experience. | Metro/PSU: Minimum 7 years experience with at least 4 years as DM in IDA pay scale Rs. 60,000-1,80,000 or equivalent. | Private Sector: Minimum 7 years experience with at least 4 years in middle management (equivalent to DM in PSU), in a company with project size of at least Rs. 200 crore or turnover of at least Rs. 50 crore in the last 3 years.

The maximum age limit for each post is reckoned as on 01-07-2026, the date of the notification: Chief General Manager / General Manager (Electrical Systems & Rolling Stock): 55 years Joint General Manager (Architect): 43 years Deputy General Manager (Finance & Accounts): 40 years Manager (Architect): 38 years Age Relaxation SC / SC (Arunthathiyars) / ST candidates: 5 years relaxation MBC / Denotified Communities / BC (non-Muslim) / BC (Muslim) candidates: 2 years relaxation Differently Abled Persons: up to 10 years relaxation over the prescribed limit (for direct recruitment only) Ex-Servicemen: prescribed age limit plus length of service in armed forces plus 3 years In all cases, the maximum age after cumulative relaxation cannot exceed 58 years as on the date of notification.

1. Interview: Candidates are assessed on knowledge, skills, comprehension, attitude, and aptitude.
2. Medical Examination: The first medical examination is free of cost, borne by CMRL. If a candidate requests an extension for joining, the cost of the second medical examination is borne by the candidate. Travel expenses for the medical test are borne by the candidate. Candidates who fail the medical test are not offered alternative employment.
