CERT-In Scientist-B Recruitment 2026: 133 Vacancies, GATE-Based Selection, Apply Online

The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), functioning under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), has invited online applications for 133 Scientist-'B' posts (equivalent to Group-'A') on a direct recruitment basis. Shortlisting for the Personal Interaction/Interview stage will be based on a valid GATE score of 2024, 2025, or 2026. Eligible candidates can apply online from 14 July 2026 to 17 August 2026 (5:30 PM).

The post of Scientist-'B' carries Level 10 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (7th CPC), with a pay scale of Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500. Details of allowances (DA, HRA, TA) are not specified in the notification.

1. GATE Score Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted for interview in the ratio of 1:5 (discipline-wise and category-wise), based on GATE score merit. All candidates with a tied score at the cut-off rank are shortlisted.
2. Document Verification: Conducted before the interaction/interview. Candidates who fail to appear with original documents are not eligible for further stages.
3. Personal Interaction/Interview: Maximum 50 marks, assessed on Technical (Academic) knowledge, Presentation/Communication Skill/Comprehension, and Academic performance (0.05 mark per percentage in the qualifying degree).
4. Unreserved (UR): 50%
5. EWS/OBC/SC/ST/PwBD: 40%
6. Higher GATE paper score ranks higher
7. If GATE scores are equal, higher marks in the Technical (Academic) knowledge section of the interview ranks higher
8. If still tied, the older candidate ranks higher
