Educational Qualification: LLB. | Enrollment Certificate as an Advocate with the Bar Council. | Experience at the Bar of handling criminal matters in Sessions Courts. | An unconditional willingness/consent to work on the general terms & conditions approved by the Government of India from time to time. | A minimum standing of 10 years as an Advocate is required for considering an advocate for CBI Special Public Prosecutor, along with details of important criminal cases handled by the applicant. | Experience in conducting trials of cases under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, is a mandatory pre-condition. | Eligible candidates shall be required to be stationed at the place where the concerned Court is situated. No travelling allowance or reimbursement of travel expenses shall be admissible for attending the Court.

Eligibility is instead based on a minimum standing of 10 years as a practicing Advocate with relevant criminal-trial experience, as detailed in the Eligibility section above.
