1. Stage 1 – Computer Based Test (CBT): 100 objective-type questions of 1 mark each, 120 minutes duration, conducted in English only, with no negative marking. The paper has two sections — Domain Knowledge (60 marks) and General Aptitude comprising English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, and General Awareness & Current Affairs (40 marks).
2. Stage 2 – Skill/Proficiency Test (SPT): Qualifying in nature, conducted at the respective refinery locations for candidates who clear the CBT cut-off.
3. Stage 3 – Pre-Employment Medical Examination: Final appointment is subject to candidates meeting BPCL's Medical Fitness norms and standards.
