About this recruitment
The Academy of Weapon Technology & Management (AWTM), Ichapur - a unit of Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited (AWEIL), a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Defence - has invited offline applications (Advertisement No. 01/Hiring-GSF/AWTM/2026-27) for 40 tenure-based Technical posts on a contractual basis at Gun & Shell Factory (GSF), Kashipur, a unit of AWEIL Kanpur.
Eligibility
Any citizen of India who meets the essential qualification specified in the advertisement can apply for GSF Kashipur Recruitment 2026. GSF Kashipur Qualification As per SRO norms, candidates must hold Matriculation plus a National Trade Certificate (NTC) or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the relevant trade, issued by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT).
Age limit in full
General candidates must be between 18 and 35 years of age as on the last date for receipt of application. Age relaxation applies as follows: Category Age Relaxation SC/ST (only against posts reserved for SC/ST) 5 years OBC – Non-Creamy Layer (only against posts reserved for OBC) 3 years Ex-Servicemen Period of military service + 3 years PwD (Physically Handicapped) 10 years SC/ST PwD 13 years OBC PwD 15 years Only the Class 10 Board Certificate/Marksheet will be accepted as proof of date of birth.
Pay and allowances
Selected candidates will receive a consolidated monthly wage as per current CPC Level-1 basic pay, plus Dearness Allowance (DA) as per government rules. Remuneration for an 8-hour working day is calculated at 1/30th of the basic pay + DA of the relevant pay scale, with proportional deduction for unauthorised absence. A 3% annual increment in basic pay is admissible subject to satisfactory performance, reviewed on a half-yearly basis. House Rent Allowance is payable if AWEIL does not provide quarters. Selected candidates are also eligible for EPF and are covered under the Employees' Compensation Act, 1923.

Selection process
- Candidates are shortlisted for the Trade Test/Practical Test based on a cut-off percentage decided by AWTM, Ichapur, using total marks obtained in the NCVT trade examination.
- The Trade Test/Practical Test is conducted by AWTM, Ichapur.
- The final merit list is prepared from combined marks in the NCVT examination and the Trade Test/Practical Test, weighted 80% (NCVT) and 20% (Trade Test/Practical).
- Qualified candidates are called for Document Verification in merit order, limited to the number of notified vacancies by trade/category.
- If candidates are rejected at Document Verification for incomplete documents or not meeting age/qualification norms, additional candidates are called in merit order to fill the gap.
- The ratio of eligible candidates called (for document verification/interview stage) to notified vacancies is 1:10.
- In case of a tie in marks, preference is given in this order: (i) prior trade apprentice of GSF Kashipur, (ii) prior trade apprentice of other Ordnance Factories, (iii) higher marks in NCVT, (iv) older date of birth.
